Dermott Brereton played for the Hawthorn Football Club from 1982–1992, wearing No. 23 and becoming one of the club’s most iconic forwards. He played 211 games for Hawthorn, kicked 464 goals, and was a key figure in five premierships (1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991). Brereton won the Norm Smith Medal in 1989, was named All-Australian, and earned a reputation for his toughness and big-game performances.
