Cardinia/Beaconsfield Golf Course, 9th hole Lakes Course, Victoria, Australia 2013
Oil on stretched canvas, 24" x 36" by Kenneth S Hunt
Cardinia/Beaconsfield Golf Course is a picturesque 27-hole course in the Dandenong Ranges East of Melbourne, they have a hills and lakes course and successfully combine the two within the 27 holes.
The Hills course was the original course and is well established, The Lakes course came later in the late 70’s early 80’s and was then closed for a number of years but 9 holes of the lakes was reopened in 2007 and either the front or back 9 of the Hill makes up the 18 holes. I have played many games of golf at these two excellent courses and enjoy them very much. Both courses abound with wildlife, Kangaroos, Ducks and even a local Goose that hangs around the 9th on the lakes.
As my subject for this painting I chose the 9th hole of the Lakes Course, with it’s elevated position it is perfect to allow you to see on overview of this very tranquil picturesque place.
I hope all that see my painting are attracted to go and visit ‘The Lakes Course’ at Cardinia/Beaconsfield it is well worth it and I hope that you enjoy your golf there as much as I do.
